Bio
Zahif Corkidi was born on August 4, in Dallas, Texas. His parents, Victor and Victoria, had recently moved to the United States from Mexico City where they met working for Mexicana Airlines. At an early age, Zahif was fond of playing make-believe, dressing up as different Characters from H.R. Puff 'n Stuff and putting on theatrical productions in his ''Red State Living Room.''
When he was in fourth grade, Zahif auditioned for Garland Civic Theatre's production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. The day of the audition Zahif wept and begged his mother to forget the whole thing. Thank God she didn't! After audtioning with "Over the Rainbow," Zahif was cast as the Coachman. This led to six other productions with the Garland Civic Theatre, and subsequently a strong relationship with The Arts.
Throughout high school, Zahif took Ballet at a nearby dance studio where they needed a boy for their recital. He also studied voice privately. Zahif's first experience with Theatre assured him that his entire life would somehow revolve around it and throught his entire schooling, it did. School productions, Thespian Society, Drama Club, etc. all became a part of his life. He even performed in three productions with the Garland Summer Musicals directed by the respected director, Buff Shurr. (Original Broadway cast of Carnival and Hit the Trail, Original Assistant Choreographer for Smell of the Greasepaint...
Zahif graduated The Garland High School of The Performing Arts early to attend the prestigious American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York City. After graduating he began working professionally accross the Country. His work has been seen in Texas, Georgia, Connecticut, Ohio, Hawaii, New York & Germany.
Zahif is the recipient of two Column Awards for his achievment in dance.
